Wolves acquire Slovak forward Ondrej Molnar from Otters
The Sudbury Wolves added some offensive punch to their forward ranks, acquiring 19-year-old slovak winger Ondrej Molnar from the Erie Otters on Friday in exchange for a conditional draft selections including third round picks in 2026 and 2027.
A former fifth overall selection by the Otters in the 2022 CHL Import Draft, Molnar produced 19 goals, 33 assists and 52 points in 66 games for Erie last season. He’s collected 71 points (23-48–71) over 100 career OHL regular season games.
“Ondrej is a player we have been very high since his draft year,” said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. “He is an outstanding skater and is an offensive threat with a nose for the net. We are very excited to add him to our team.”
The Otters made the move as a result of having two import players in fellow Slovak Martin Misiak along with Swedish netminder Noah Erliden already on their roster.
Molnar has had some success internationally, winning silver with Slovakia at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he put up six points (2-4–6) over five contests.
Molnar joins the Wolves on the road in Kitchener, Brantford and Niagara this weekend.
