Wednesday Highlights: Collins comes through

SUDBURY 6, SAULT STE. MARIE 5 – OT
– Nolan Collins scored his second goal of the season with 1:08 left in overtime as the Wolves edged the Greyhounds in a back-and-forth game.
– Nick DeGrazia set up the game winner and finished with a goal and two assists while Landon McCallum, Ethan Larmand, Evan Konyen and Jacob Holmes also scored for Sudbury.
– Owen Allard earned first star honours with two goals and an assist for the Greyhounds. Allard tied the score at five with 4:38 to go in the third period.
– Rory Kerins had a goal and an assist to re-take the OHL scoring lead with 81 points (31-50–81) while Robert Calisti joined him with a goal and an assist and Jack Thompson had two helpers.
– The Greyhounds outshot the Wolves 42-37 and went 2-for-6 on the power play.
– Mitchell Weeks made 37 saves for the win as Sudbury won their third in the last four games, improving to 17-26-3-2 for eighth in the Eastern Conference.
– The Greyhounds fall to 27-15-5-1, sitting two points back of first place Flint in the West Division.

OTTAWA 4, KINGSTON 1
– The 67’s ended a six-game slide as Jack Beck scored twice and tacked on an assist while Tyler Boucher had one and one to defeat Kingston.
– Anthony Costantini also scored for Ottawa while Cameron Tolnai picked up a pair of helpers.
– Kingston rookie Jackson Stewart scored the lone goal for the Frontenacs.
– Max Donoso stopped 32 of 33 for the win while Kingston’s Aidan Spooner made 30 saves in the loss.
– Ottawa improves to 21-24-1-3 for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
– Kingston falls to 28-14-3-0, sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference.
– Ottawa has won three of nine encounters with Kingston this season

– Luke Evangelista’s League-leading 37th goal of the season was the game winner with 7:15 remaining as the Knights took two points in Owen Sound.
– Landon Sim and Camaryn Baber also scored for London.
– Cedrick Guindon provided Owen Sound’s lone goal, his 17th of the campaign.
– Brett Brochu stopped 31 of 32 and recorded his fifth assist of the season while Owen Sound’s Nick Chenard made 28 saves.
– London has won four of five, improving to 29-12-2-0 for second place in the Western Conference.
– Owen Sound has lost eight in a row, falling to 19-23-2-2 to sit tied for seventh in the Western Conference. Eight consecutive losses are the longest slide by the Attack since the 2007-08 season.
– London is 8-0 against Owen Sound this season.
