- The Petes were hot in the first period, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes.
- Petes rookie Colin Fitzgerald opened the scoring in the first minute, netting his first OHL goal. Following that, he scored his second with a nice play in front of the net.
- The Battalion weren’t scared. They scored five unanswered goals through the remainder of the game, earning them the win.
- Anaheim Ducks prospect Ethan Procyszyn scored the deciding goal 7:56 into the third.
- North Bay defenceman Kent Greer scored his first OHL goal in the opening period.
- The Battalion improve to 3-0 on the season.

Brampton Steelheads 4 vs. Barrie Colts 1
- After a scoreless first period, Steelheads captain Porter Martone sniped one in the second to get his team on the board.
- Martone didn’t stop there, netting another goal and an assist, earning him OHL Performer of the night honours.
- Martone leads the OHL with nine points (3-6–9) through three games.
- Angus MacDonell also netted two, giving the Steelheads a 4-0 lead in the third period.
- Barrie Colts forward Emil Hemming netted the first of his career to put the Colts on the board late.
- The Steelheads improve to 3-0 to start the season for the second straight year.

Windsor Spitfires 5 vs. Soo Greyhounds 0
- AJ Spellacy put the Spitfires on the board early, following his return from Chicago Blackhawks training camp.
- The Spitfires scored four more unanswered, and goaltender Joey Costanzo turned away 27 shots in the shutout win.
- The shutout is the 100th in Spitfires history, and the club’s first on home ice since Jan. 17, 2009.
- Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas netted the first goal of his OHL career in the first period.
