- The Firebirds were unstoppable in this one, scoring seven, including the game winner by Edmonton Oilers prospect Connor Clattenburg in the second period.
- Orono, Ont. native Hayden Reid had two goals, while Alex Kostov had a goal and two assists in the big win.
- Oilers prospect Brady Stonehouse gave the Petes their second and final goal late in the second period.
- Firebirds goaltender Nathan Day made 31 saves on 33 shots in the win, while also earning save of the night honours. His 63rd win sets a new Flint Firebirds club mark.
