1ST STAR: ETHAN CARDWELL (BARRIE COLTS) – 4G
Barrie Colts newcomer Ethan Cardwell stormed out of the gate with four first period goals on Saturday, helping spot his team a much-needed 6-0 lead in an eventual 8-7 overtime win. Cardwell’s first OHL hat-trick came in his seventh game as a member of the Colts after being acquired from the Saginaw Spirit earlier this month. The former second round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection has 30 points (17-13–30) over 44 games in this, his first full OHL season. The 17-year-old from Courtice, Ont. has nine points (5-4–9) through seven games with Barrie.

2ND STAR: TY TULLIO (OSHAWA GENERALS) – 2G, 2A
Oshawa Generals forward Ty Tullio joined forces with linemate Philip Tomasino on Saturday, scoring twice while adding two assists in a 7-4 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on Sportsnet. Tullio’s four points are a season-high, giving him 50 points (21-29–50) over 44 contests as a sophomore after he was Oshawa’s first round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. The 17-year-old from Lakeshore, Ont. was ranked 54th among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Draft Rankings.

3RD STAR: QUINTON BYFIELD (SUDBURY WOLVES) – 3G
Quinton Byfield scored a natural hat-trick, leading the Sudbury Wolves past visiting Sault Ste. Marie 5-2. Byfield’s hat-trick put Sudbury ahead 3-0 after 40 minutes and the Wolves never looked back as Byfield equalled his rookie total of 29 goals, doing so in his 36th game of the season. The 6-foot-4, 215Ib. centre has 70 points (29-41–70) over 36 games this season and recently won gold with Canada’s National Junior Team. He was the second-ranked North American skater on the NHL Central Scouting Midterms.
