Sunday Highlights: Petes push back in Game 2
Multi-point performances from Jonathan Ang, Hunter Garlent and Greg Betzold led the Peterborough Petes to a 5-3 road win in North Bay on Sunday, evening their first round series with the Battalion at a game apiece.
The win behind enemy lines saw Peterborough climb out to a 4-1 lead before holding off a late Battalion counter-attack to take the win despite being outshot 27-21.
Logan DeNoble and Steven Lorentz also found the back of the net as the Petes take the series back to Peterborough all square at one win apiece for Game 3 on Tuesday.
The Petes victory came in one of three series in action around the league on Sunday.

Logan DeNoble’s goal with 11 seconds left in the first period gave the Peterborough new life headed into the second as they went ahead 4-1 and never looked back in a 5-3 victory in enemy territory. The Petes evened their series at a game apiece with North Bay behind a goal and an assist from Hunter Garlent, Greg Betzold and Jonathan Ang. North Bay took the shooting column 27-21 but came up short as Matthew Mancina made 24 saves in the Peterborough crease. Petes captain Eric Cornel had a pair of assists while North Bay captain Mike Amadio led his club with a goal and an assist. The series heads to Peterborough tied 1-1 for Game 3 on Tuesday.

SSM leads series 2-0
The Soo Greyhounds continued to impress on Sunday, taking a 2-0 series lead over the West Division champion Sarnia Sting as Zach Senyshyn’s two goals led the chage in a 5-2 road win. Greyhounds goaltender Brandon Halverson was a rock in the crease, turning aside 39 shots while Boris Katchouk, Tim Gettinger and Bobby MacIntyre also scored for Sault Ste. Marie. Sarnia outshot the Hounds 41-25 in the loss with goals from Anthony Salinitri and Matt Mistele. They face the ominous task of going into Sault Ste. Marie for Game 3 on Tuesday trailing 2-0 in the series. They did end the game on a high note, outshooting the Greyhounds 24-3 in the third period as Halverson was at his best to preserve the victory.

ERIE 7 SAGINAW 3
ER leads 2-0
The Erie Otters followed up a 5-1 win on Friday with a seven goal performance on Sunday, defeating the visiting Saginaw Spirit 7-3 to take a 2-0 series lead. Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome both had a goal and two assists as the Otters outshot the Spirit 43-22. Kyle Maksimovich (1-1–2), Travis Dermott (0-2–2) and Jordan Sambrook (0-2–2) also recorded multi-point outputs as the Otters went an impressive 4-for-8 on the man advantage while only conceding three powerplay opportunities to Saginaw. The Spirit had goals from Jesse Barwell, Connor Brown and Brady Gilmour in the loss. They look to get on track back in Saginaw when the puck drops for Game 3 on Tuesday.
