Sting sign second overall pick Alessandro Di Iorio
Sarnia, ON – Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced this morning that the Hockey Club has signed forward Alessandro Di Iorio to an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.
With the second overall selection, Seca added 6’1 forward Alessandro Di Iorio in this year’s 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Vaughan Kings U16 AAA team. The Vaughan, Ontario native tallied 20 goals and 12 points in 27 games played in addition to four goals and two assists through seven games at the OHL Cup. Di Iorio also represented Canada at the Youth Olympics, recording six goals and an assist in just four games.
On the signing of Alessandro, Seca comments:
“This is a huge day for our organization, Alessandro is a player our scouts and staff believe has the ability to be a corner stone player for this organization. There will be no pressure, he is a player that we know will put the work in, he’s a leader, a great team guy, he’s as complete a player there is in this draft class. We welcome Alessandro and the Di Iorio family to Sarnia.”
