Steelheads sign forward Manuel Amado
BRAMPTON, ON – The Steelheads announced on Friday that Manuel Amado has committed to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club. The London native was selected in the thirteenth round (#255 overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection this past April.
The 6’1”, 174 lb forward has played 28 regular season games with the London Jr. Knights U16 AAA registering 22 points (5G,17A). Amado also participated in the OHL Cup playing 4 games and recording 2 goals.
Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented on the Amado signing. “Every now and then we have a player that comes into Camp that just does so many things well that we all have to take notice. This year Manny was that guy. We couldn’t care less what round we selected him in. He plays hard every shift, he’s attentive when the coaches are speaking with him and then he applies those things into his game. Manny has earned his way and will be an AP with us this year. We look forward to seeing him play for the Steelheads very soon.”
