(2) Windsor Spitfires (45-17-4-2) vs. (7) Soo Greyhounds (29-35-2-2)
The Windsor Spitfires and Soo Greyhounds meet in the OHL Playoffs for the first time in 20 years. Their last meeting saw the Hounds climb out to a 3-0 series lead before Windsor stormed back to force a Game 7. The Hounds led 3-0 in Game 7 before Windsor scored four unanswered capped by a double-OT winner by John-Scott Dickson.
Certainly neither team would prefer that kind of drama unfold in this first round series as the Spitfires, who feature twin 100-point scorers Ilya Protas and Liam Greentree, are tasked with solving a Greyhounds team that is heating up at the right time, winning their last five games of the regular season.
The Spits are a tough two points at the WFCU Centre, playing to a 29-4-0-1 mark at home this season. They’ll open up things there tonight at 7:05pm.
