Rangers hire Lindsay Eastwood as Manager of Communications & Team Services
Kitchener, Ont. – The Kitchener Rangers announced today that Lindsay Eastwood has been named the club’s Manager of Communications and Team Services.
“We are thrilled to announce Lindsay as our new communications and team services manager,” said Kitchener Rangers Chief Operating Officer Joe Birch. “Lindsay’s digital and social media experience with national brands like Sportsnet, BAND-AID, Nissan Canada, Ford and the Maple Leafs, paired with her experience as a professional player in our sport will be a special fit for the Rangers brand.”
Eastwood, 26, comes to Kitchener after spending the last three seasons playing professional hockey for the Toronto Six, a member of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Impressively, Eastwood played a key role in leading the Six to capture the 2023 Isobel Cup, the championship trophy awarded annually to PHF’s playoff winner, where she then retired to join the Rangers. Eastwood recorded 28 points (4G, 24A) in 50 professional regular season games as a defenceman for the Six. Of note, she also scored the first ever goal in franchise history for the Toronto Six.
“We are happy to welcome Lindsay to the Rangers family,” said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. “As a former professional hockey player, Lindsay will bring great experience to the way we travel and operate on the team services side of our program moving forward.”
Prior to her time playing professionally, Eastwood played NCAA Division I women’s hockey at Syracuse University (N.Y.), where she was a three-year captain of the Orange. Eastwood helped lead Syracuse to the College Hockey America’s (CHA) Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament Championship for the first time, and the Orange’s first-ever bid to the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament.
“It’s such an honour to become a Ranger,” said Eastwood. “I know Kitchener is such a storied franchise, has so much history and a great reputation in the hockey world. I’m really looking forward to getting started and to serving the Rangers family.”
Off the ice, Eastwood was most recently an associate producer at Sportsnet, where she was a key team member in bringing the daily show, Sportsnet Central, to life. Before that, Eastwood was the marketing and content creator for CIMCO Refrigeration, an industrial refrigeration company that is a leader in the mechanics behind professional ice arena surfaces today. Additionally, Eastwood oversaw the social media accounts and content for the Ford FANatic program, a renowned partnership between Ford Canada and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Eastwood was also a producer on the project management team at Critical Mass, an award-winning full-service digital experience design agency who oversaw digital marketing projects for storied companies such as BAND-AID and Nissan Canada.
Eastwood is the niece of former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mike Eastwood and is a native of the Ottawa Region in Kanata, Ont. Eastwood plans to relocate to the Waterloo Region this season.
