Rangers Announce Multi-Year Contract Extension for Assistant GM Michael Zsolt
Kitchener, ON – The Kitchener Rangers are pleased to announce the signing of Michael Zsolt to a multi-year contract extension, continuing his role as Assistant General Manager for the organization. Zsolt’s tenure with the Rangers has been marked by invaluable contributions to various facets of hockey operations.
“Michael has done a great job providing value to our organization in a number of important areas. A lot of the work he does is behind the scenes and doesn’t get the recognition it deserves publicly but it is very important to the team internally,” said General Manager Mike McKenzie. “We are excited and happy that he will continue to be a key part of our hockey operations staff moving forward.”
Zsolt joined the Rangers in 2017 as the team’s Director of Analytics and soon after took on the responsibility of Director of Hockey Operations. In 2021 Zsolt was promoted to Assistant General Manager, and in this capacity, he has been a pivotal figure in driving the club’s hockey operations forward. Zsolt plays an integral role in scouting, player recruitment, team management, player development, and he continues to lead the Ranger’s application of data and analytics to all areas of hockey operations.
“I am extremely excited to continue building towards bringing a championship to Kitchener,” said Zsolt. “We are all fortunate to be part of this organization and to contribute to its success. I am most proud of the group of staff and players that make up this club, and of the culture we have built. Thank you to Mike McKenzie, Joe Birch, and the Rangers organization for this opportunity.”
The Kitchener Rangers are excited about the future with Michael Zsolt at the helm as Assistant General Manager and look forward to continued success under his leadership.
