Bulldogs’ Laciak hired by Maple Leafs: Long-time Brantford/Hamilton Bulldogs Athletic Therapist J.P. Laciak has been called-up to the big leagues. Laciak has accepted a position with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, returning to the organization where he got his start with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. Laciak won two OHL championships throughout his nine-year tenure with the Bulldogs. Read more

Steelheads acquire Joshua Avery from Bulldogs: The Brampton Steelheads gained a 2007-born competitor up front in forward Joshua Avery from the Brantford Bulldogs. The Uxbridge native competed in last year’s Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game. Read more
Blueliner Liam Ladds dealt to Wolves: The Sudbury Wolves acquired NHL Draft eligible defender Liam Ladds from the Peterborough Petes on Thursday in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2027. Ladds, from Ilderton, produced 14 points (2-12–14) over 63 games with the Petes in 2024-25. Read more
Sting acquire goaltender Charlie Larocque: The Sarnia Sting acquired 18-year-old goaltender Charlie Larocque from the North Bay Battalion on Thursday in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2029. The 6-foot-3 Larocque split 2024-25 between the Battalion and the CCHL’s Carleton Place Canadians. The Sting made the addition with goaltender Patrick Quinlan currently listed day-to-day with an injury entering a pair of games this weekend.
Steelheads sign forward Ty Daniels: The Brampton Steelheads have signed seventh round 2024 OHL Priority Selection choice Ty Daniels to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The Grimsby native spent last season with the Buffalo Sabres 16U AAA program, recording 44 points (18-26–44) over 56 games. Read more

Petes host Pride Night on Thursday: The Peterborough Petes host Pride Night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday as first overall OHL Priority Selection choice Kaden McGregor is expected to make his OHL debut against the Erie Otters. Proceeds from Thursday’s game will go towards Sport-A-Rainbow, a reminder to be supportive, respectful and kind to each other in spite of our differences. This support can be shown in your everyday life at school, work, extracurricular activities and certainly in the sporting community.
Spits host We Love Baseball Night on Thursday: With the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers in the World Series running, the Windsor Spitfires are reminding everyone that they love baseball, too! The Spits invite fans to come on out for a night of fun with themed activities, and a mini Spitfires themed baseball giveaway before they play host to the Niagara IceDogs.
Bulldogs host Country Weekend at the Madhouse: The Brantford Bulldogs are home for back-to-back contests on Friday and Saturday as the Peterborough Petes and Sudbury Wolves visit the TD Civic Centre. It’s a country and western theme in Brantford this weekend, so dust off your cowboy hat and get down to the rink!
Rangers host Attack in Oktoberfest game: October in Kitchener means Oktoberfest! The Rangers invite fans for a night of hockey and festive fun at the Kitchener Rangers Oktoberfest game and food drive! On Friday, the Rangers will hit the ice in a celebration of community and tradition, with the arena decked out in Oktoberfest spirit. Don your best Bavarian attire, enjoy lively music, and soak in the atmosphere as we bring the energy of one of Kitchener’s most beloved festivals to The Aud.
Storm host Food Drive on Saturday: The Guelph Storm will host a Food Drive at Saturday’s home game when they play host to the London Knights. When fans enter the rink, volunteers will be on hand to collect much-needed non-perishable food items in support of the Guelph Food Bank. For every item donated, fans will receive a raffle ticket that will be entered into a draw for the chance to win 1 of 10 great prizes totalling $500.00. Read more
Battalion hosts Indigenous Youth Day on Sunday: The North Bay Battalion will host an Indigenous Youth Day game on Sunday when the Soo Greyhounds pay a visit. The Troops have a long-standing partnership with local Native Awareness Training educator and retired police officer George Couchie, who has helped the club’s players and staff better identify with Indigenous matters, including understanding the history and cultural significane of Indigenous people in Canada.
Alumni Report:
163 OHL graduates included on 2025-26 U SPORTS men’s hockey opening night rosters: A total of 163 OHL alumni, including 21 who saw action during the 2024-25 season are starting the 2025-26 season on U SPORTS Men’s Hockey rosters. Read more
OHL alumnus Djibril Toure proudly wears durag under his helmet: Former Sudbury Wolves and Windsor Spitfires defenceman Djibril Toure made headlines while he was playing for the Ottawa Senators during a prospect game on Sept. 13 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the middle of a scrum, his helmet came off – revealing the durag he was wearing underneath. Although Touré has often worn a durag under his helmet in the minors, it had never drawn much attention – until this clip went viral on social media. Many fans praised the moment, noting they had never seen anything like it in hockey. Read more
