Vaughan Kings win Whitby International Silver Stick Tournament:
A four-goal second period propelled the Vaughan Kings to Silver Stick supremacy on Sunday at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby, as Vaughan finished out the tournament with a 6-0-1 record, the last team standing of the 30 U16 AAA squads participating. Vaughan was the second-ranked team on the Week 1 edition of OHL Cup Top-10 Rankings last week. Read more

Spirit’s Goslin honoured with Distinguished Citizens Award:
Goslin, president and managing partner of the Saginaw Spirit, was recently honoured with the Distinguished Citizens Award by the Michigan Crossroads Council of the Boy Scouts of America for having such a heart. The Distinguished Citizens Award isn’t solely given to scouting volunteers but rather to individuals who exemplify the personal attributes and character traits the scouts stand for such as good citizenship and dedication to others. He has served on the council’s executive board, helped champion fundraising efforts, and even arranged opportunities for scouts to interview Spirit players. Read more
Teddy Bear Toss continues in Kingston, Ottawa and Sarnia this week:
It’s Teddy Bear Toss season in the OHL! Don’t miss the Teddy Bear Toss in your city as teams collect stuffed toys to be distributed to charitable organizations in their communities. Here’s a look at when teams across the league will host their respective Teddy Bear Toss games in November and December. Read more
Storm to host Community Backpack Project night on Friday:
The Guelph Storm are set to host their Community Backpack Project night on Friday. The game will feature a ceremonial puck drop to honour just a few of the many Hope House volunteers that made the Backpack Project a success again in 2023. Over the summer, the Storm partnered with Hope House to support their Community Backpack Project. Each year, Hope House Guelph coordinates a school supply drive to provide children with the tools they need for a successful school year. The Storm were pleased to collect 280 backpacks in support of the initiative. Read more
Attack to host Attack Hunger Food Drive Night on Saturday:
The Owen Sound Attack are set to host their Attack Hunger Food Drive on Saturday. This year’s event will see donations being collected on game night as well as at two main drop-off locations the Attack office downtown and Foodland on the west side. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at these locations beginning November 26 to December 4, although they can be made prior to and after these dates as well. Monetary donation can also be made to the Attack Hunger Campaign by visiting the Attack Shack online store and following the Attack Hunger link. Read more
IceDogs to host Paw Patrol game on Sunday:
The Niagara IceDogs are set to host their Paw Patrol game on Sunday where the IceDogs will be sporting specialty Paw Patrol jerseys! The first 1000 kids in the building will receive a reusable Paw Patrol Water bottle, and there will also be special Paw Patrol mini sticks, pucks, locker name plates and youth jerseys available online.

The Guelph Storm are set to host their Big Brothers Big Sisters Big Day on Sunday.

Clarke leading all AHL blueliners offensively
Ontario Reign blueliner Brandt Clarke continues to have a stellar rookie season in the American Hockey League, recording 18 points in 18 games played, including four multi-point showings. Recording at least a point per game in 13 games this year, the Barrie Colts alumnus now leads all AHL defenceman in points this season. Selected eighth overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2021 NHL Draft, the 20-year-old Ottawa, Ont. native continues to develop after recorded 61 points (23-38-61) in 31 appearances with the Colts last season. Originally selected fourth overall in the the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Brandt spent three seasons in Barrie, tallying 158 points over 143 regular season games.
Kane and DeBrincat reuinted in Detroit:
Former Chicago Blackhawks linemates Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane have reunited once again, as Kane agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Kane, who turned 35 this month, had been recovering from hip surgery and evaluating his suitors over the first two months of the season after becoming a free agent in the summer. The 2016 Hart Trophy Winner enters his 18th season in the NHL, spending 17 in Chicago before being traded to the New York Rangers at the end of last season. The former first overall pick of the 2007 NHL Draft has registered 1237 points (451-786-1237) over 1180 regular season NHL games. Selected in the fifth round (88th overall) by the London Knights in the 2004 OHL Priority Selection, the former OHL Rookie of the Year made his mark in the OHL during the 2006-07 season, tallying 145 points (62-83-145) in only 58 games played.
Playing five seasons along Kane in Chicago, DeBrincat was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft. Over 471 games played, the Farmington Hills, MI. native has registered 199 goals, 194 assists, and 393 points between the Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, and Red Wings. Signed as a free agent with the Erie Otters, DeBrincat recorded over 100 points per season with the Otters from 2014-17, tallying 332 (167-165-332) points in 191 games played.
Foligno hits 1,100 NHL games:
Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno skated in his 1,100th NHL game on Sunday in a 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Selected 28th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL Draft, the 6-foot, 210lb. left-winger has spent 17 seasons in the NHL between the Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and the Blackhawks. The 36-year-old from Sudbury, Ont. has registered 217 goals, 317 assists, and 534 points over his 1,101 games played. Selected in the fifth round (84th overall) by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2003 OHL Priority Selection, Foligno recorded 196 points (65-131-196) in 196 games over three seasons with his hometown team.
Kubalik plays 300th NHL game:
Ottawa Senators forward Dominik Kubalik skated in his 300th NHL career game on Sunday as the Senators fell to the Florida Panthers 5-0 at home. Originally selected in the seventh round, 191st overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2013 NHL Draft, the Plzen, Czechia. native has registered 86 goals, 80 assists, and 166 points between the Senators, Chicago Blackhawks, and Detroit Red Wings. Kubalik spent two seasons in the OHL after being selected by the Sudbury Wolves in the first round of the 2012 CHL Import Draft, tallying 63 points (35-28-63) over 126 games played between the Wolves and the Kitchener Rangers.
