Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas of the Windsor Spitfires is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time this season, registering five goals, six assists and 11 points over three contests. Details
Bulldogs’ Leenders named OHL Goaltender of the Week:
Buffalo Sabres prospect Ryerson Leenders of the Brantford Bulldogs is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season, going 2-0 along with a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .974 save percentage. Details
Steelheads’ Lane named OHL Rookie of the Week:
Brampton Steelheads forward Aidan Lane is the OHL Rookie of the Week, registering three goals, two assists and five points in four games played. Details

Firebirds sign U18 Draft pick Josh Bonnyman:
The Flint Firebirds announced on Thursday that the team has signed forward Josh Bonnyman to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. Bonnyman was selected by the Firebirds in the second round of the 2024 OHL U18 Priority Selection. The Uxbridge, Ontario native has spent the 2024-25 season playing for the Stouffville Spirit of the OJHL, where he has tallied 16 goals and 23 assists in 50 games. Details

Colts’ Aitcheson sets new franchise mark for single season goals by a blueliner:
NHL Draft eligible defenceman Kashawn Aitcheson surpassed Andrew Marshall, Aaron Ekblad and Brandt Clarke with his 24th and 25th goals of the season last weekend, becoming the highest goal-scoring defender in a single season of Barrie Colts history. Details
Knights’ Dickinson establishes new record on the back end:
San Jose Sharks prospect Sam Dickinson is the highest-scoring single season defender in London Knights history. Dickinson registered his 88th point last weekend, surpassing Evan Bouchard and Rick Corriveau to set the new mark. Details
Knights’ Elliott improves to 31-1:
Overage netminder Austin Elliott is now an impressive 31-1-0-0 in the London Knights crease. He stopped 26-of-27 on Tuesday night in Kitchener as the Knights beat the Rangers 2-1, continuing an incredible season that has featured the second-most wins in franchise history. Elliott boasts a league-leading 2.11 goals-against average and .924 save percentage across 32 games.
Spitfires’ Protas hits 50-goal milestone:
Windsor Spitfires forward Ilya Protas is the OHL’s newest 50-goal scorer. The Washington Capitals prospect sits tied for second in OHL scoring with 119 points (50-69–119) over 60 games. The Spits selected Protas with the third overall pick of the CHL Import Draft last summer.
IceDogs’ Roobroeck hits 40-goal mark:
Niagara IceDogs forward Ryan Roobroeck is the OHL’s seventh draft minus-one player to score 40 goals in a season since the turn of the century, joining such names as Alex DeBrincat, Kerby Rychel, Nail Yakupov, John Tavares, Steven Stamkos and Dustin Brown. The London, Ont. native is considered a top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft.
OHL Cup Wildcard Matchups set for Monday:
The Ontario Hockey League announced the Wild Card Play-In matchups for the 2025 OHL Cup set to begin on the morning of Monday, March 24 at Scotiabank Pond in Toronto. Seventeen teams have secured their place in the annual showcase, with three more spots being awarded to the winners of Monday’s play-in matchups. Details

Woody’s Hoodies is thrilled to announce their second donation to Play for a Cure of $31,024 towards cancer research, with a focus on the new local triple negative breast cancer fresh tissue trial. This brings total donations to various cancer associations to OVER $65,000 since its launch one year ago. Details

Ryan Strome cherishes junior hockey development with IceDogs:
Ryan Strome has carved out a strong 13-year professional hockey career in the NHL with four different teams, accumulating over 800 games played and just under 600 points, but the now 31-year-old alternate captain for the Anaheim Ducks still believes his years in Niagara with the IceDogs of the OHL were pivotal for his development and growth as both a man and a player. The OHL is proud to announce that 47 OHL alumni are among the 176 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) graduates competing in the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Hockey Championship from March 20-23 at TD Place in Ottawa. Details
