London wins Hamilton Spectator Trophy, crowned Midwest Division champions:
The London Knights are regular season champions for a second straight year, claiming the Hamilton Spectator Trophy for the eighth time since 2003-04. The Knights also secured their sixth consecutive Midwest Division crown on Tuesday, defeating the Guelph Storm 7-3 in front of 9,061 at Canada Life Place. Details
Colts secure Central Division title:
The Barrie Colts won a high-scoring matchup in St. Catharines on Tuesday night, defeating the Niagara IceDogs 7-4 to clinch their first Central Division title since 2018. Details
Dale Hunter becomes second coach in CHL history to reach 1,000 wins:
London Knights head coach Dale Hunter joined the great Brian Kilrea as just the second coach in CHL history to reach 1,000 career wins as London edged Kingston. The milestone victory adds to Hunter’s legendary career, cementing his legacy as one of the winningest coaches in junior hockey history. Watch
Marty Williamson earns 600th win:
The Barrie Colts are Central Division champions for the first time since 2018, and Marty Williamson is the seventh coach in OHL history with 600 career wins. Details
Steelheads’ MacDonell signs with Stars:
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced that the club has signed forward Angus MacDonell to a three-year, entry-level contract. MacDonell has totaled 47 points for the Brampton Steelheads this season, ranking in the top five on his team in goals (fourth) and points (fifth) despite only playing in 39 regular-season games. The Barrie Colts are proud to announce the signing of 2024 third-round selection Cole Emerton to an OHL Education and Scholarship Agreement. Emerton was drafted 50th overall in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Vaughan Kings U16 program. Details

Wolves sign eighth-round pick Cole Finn Kearns:
The Sudbury Wolves have signed defenceman Finn Kearns, a 2024 8th round OHL Priority selection,to an OHL Scholarship and Development agreement with the club. Finn Kearns is a 6-foot-3, 203 lbs, 16-year-old left-handed defenceman from Aurora, Ontario. Finn joins the Wolves after a season with St. Andrew’s College, compiling 55 games with 8 goals, 20 assists, and 105 penalty minutes. Details
Spitfires sign third-round pick Andrew Robinson:
The Windsor Spitfires have signed 2024 third round OHL Priority Selection choice Andrew Robinson to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 6-foot, 183Ib. defenceman is currently playing for the Georgetown Raiders of the OJHL, recording 34 points (3-31–34) over 53 games. Details

On Saturday, February 16th, the Niagara IceDogs took on the Brantford Bulldogs in their Superhero Theme Game. The IceDogs swapped their traditional red for the specialty superhero-themed jerseys to be auctioned off, with proceeds donated to the Niagara Children’s Centre. Details

In the seventh edition of the CHL Alumni Spotlight presented by Carlsberg Canada, former Windsor Spitfires forward Wyatt Johnston reflects on his OHL journey and his development over three seasons in Windsor before advancing to a successful professional career with the Dallas Stars. Watch
OHL mourns the loss of Dick Cherry:
The OHL is saddened by news of the passing of alumnus and long-time scout Dick Cherry. The Kingston native died on March 6th, three weeks shy of his 88th birthday. The younger brother of Canadian hockey icon Don Cherry, Dick Cherry played two seasons on the blueline with the OHA’s Barrie Flyers from 1955-57 before embarking on a lengthy pro career that included 145 NHL games with the Boston Bruins, and more prominently the Philadelphia Flyers. A total of 195 OHL alumni are playing in the U SPORTS men’s hockey ranks this season. Throughout the year the U SPORTS Report will keep tabs on former OHL names doing great things in the OUA, AUS and Canada West ranks on the road to the 2025 U SPORTS University Cup to be held from March 20-23 in Ottawa, Ont.
