Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nick Lardis of the Brantford Bulldogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, registering seven goals, two assists and nine points in three road wins last week. Details
Attack’s George named OHL Goaltender of the Week:
Los Angeles Kings prospect Carter George of the Owen Sound Attack is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, going 2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. Details

Knights’ Elliott commits to UMass Lowell:
London Knights goaltender Austin Elliott has committed to UMass Lowell, announced earlier this week. Elliott made OHL history this season, winning each of his first 20 starts in the league, four wins shy of the OHL’s all-time winning streak by a goaltender set by Ray LeBlanc of the Kitchener Rangers in 1983-84. Attack sign 19-year-old defenceman Lenny Greenberg:
The Owen Sound Attack announced Friday afternoon the signing of BCHL player Lenny Greenberg. The previous two hockey seasons, Greenberg has played for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in Port Alberni, BC having 85 games under his belt in total. The 2005-born defenceman recorded five goals, 14 assists and 19 points in 31 games this season. Details

The Brampton Steelheads are thrilled to announce their first Women In Sports Day on Friday. As women continue breaking down barriers within sports, the Steelheads look to use this game to highlight the trailblazers who, through their dedication and hard work, have paved the way for future generations within this industry. Otters to host Mascot Mania on Saturday:
It’s time to birthday bash! Otto’s birthday celebration gets underway in the fan-favorite Mascot Mania in Erie on Saturday. How better to celebrate the birthday otter than with his favorite friends from all around the Tri-States will be out for photos, games on the ice, and general wackiness around the arena. This night of hilarity will be a delight for the whole family!
Storm to host Timbits Minor Hockey night on Saturday:
Saturday is Timbits Minor Hockey Night at the Sleeman Centre. Local Tim Hortons Restaurant owners are excited to celebrate another fun season of Timbits hockey in the region with nearly 500 local Timbits hockey players from Arthur Minor Hockey Association, Centre Wellington Minor Hockey Association, Grand Valley & District MHA, Guelph MHA, Minto Minor Hockey, Mount Forest Minor Hockey, Orangeville Minor Hockey, Shelburne Minor Hockey, Stanley Stick Hockey Association, Drayton Minor Hockey Association and Town of Minto – Grassroots Hockey will be attending the game courtesy of local Tim Hortons Restaurant Owners. OHL mourns the loss of Brent Jarrett:
The Ontario Hockey League is mourning the loss of former Windsor Spitfires and Soo Greyhounds forward Brent Jarrett, who passed away this past Saturday at the age of 65 following a battle with brain cancer. Jarrett played parts of three OHL seasons from 1977-80, starting with his hometown Greyhounds before being dealt to the Windsor Spitfires midway through 1978-79. Read more
OHL mourns the loss of Shawn Simpson:
The Ontario Hockey League is saddened by the loss of former Soo Greyhounds and Oshawa Generals goaltender Shawn Simpson, a man beloved by many who became a familiar voice in the Ottawa region with a long-time presence on TSN 1200 Radio. Originally from Gloucester, Ont., “Simmer,” as he was affectionately called, passed away this week at the age of 56. The OHL was a springboard for Simpson as he was selected by the Soo Greyhounds in the second round of the 1985 OHL Priority Selection. Read more
NHL Debut – Ryan Suzuki:
Ryan Suzuki made his NHL debut last Thursday night with the Carolina Hurricanes, nearly six years after being selected 28th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft. The London, Ont., native skated 6:21 and finished with a +1 rating as the Hurricanes defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 at Lenovo Center. Originally selected first overall by the Barrie Colts in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, Suzuki played two full seasons in Barrie before splitting his final OHL campaign between the Colts and Saginaw Spirit. In 173 career OHL regular season games, he recorded 57 goals, 120 assists, and 177 points. Details

Sting honour Hall of Fame class of 2025:
The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club is proud to continue the annual tradition of adding to the Sarnia Sting Hall of Fame Honoured Membership with the election of three individuals to the class of 2025. This year’s inductees were recognized alongside their families for their contributions in building the success of the Sting in Sarnia-Lambton during an on-ice ceremony this past Saturday night. The London Knights are proud to announce the two newest inductees to the Don Brankley Hall of Fame as the Class of 2025, Dave Hutchison and Dennis Ververgaert. The official induction ceremony and press conference will take place at Canada Life Place on Friday. Details
