OHL Prospect Pipeline: Dec. 14, 2023
In an all-new series for this season, the OHL takes a look at affiliated prospects from across the province that have signed an OHL scholarship and development agreement, and are currently excelling with their respective junior programs.
OJHL
Cameron Arquette (Kitchener Rangers) / Leamington Flyers – The 2007-born forward has played an important role for the Leamington Flyers in their inaugural season in the OJHL. The Sun County Panthers alum has been a steady contributor, tallying 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in 27 games played this season. A fourth-round pick of the Kitchener Rangers, Arquette signed his OHL scholarship and development agreement on Nov. 14. The Wheatley, Ont. native tallied an assist in his OHL debut with Kitchener last weekend in Guelph.

Lucas Di Giantommaso (Sudbury Wolves) / Burlington Cougars – The Sudbury Wolves prospect has had a productive season since returning to the Burlington Cougars in early November. The eighth round pick from the 2021 Priority Selection has 18 points (12 goals, 6 assists) in just 14 games for the Cougars, already surpassing his goal mark from last season (seven goals in 42 games). The 18-year-old from Oakville, Ont. has appeared in a total of eight OHL preseason games the past two seasons, recording four assists.

GOJHL
Ethan Weir (Kingston Frontenacs) / St. Marys Lincolns – The 42nd overall pick from this past Priority Selection currently leads all GOJHL rookies in points-per-game at 1.50, collecting an impressive total of 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) in 14 games with the St. Marys Lincolns. The London native has appeared in five games with the Kingston Frontenacs this season. He’s the son of former OHL champion Bill Weir, who hoisted the J. Ross Robertson Cup with the 1993 Peterborough Petes.

Carson Harmer (Saginaw Spirit) / Stratford Warriors – The Saginaw Spirit prospect has been an important piece for the Stratford Warriors this season. The 44th overall pick from the 2023 Priority Selection has 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 28 games for the Warriors thus far, including a team-high four game-winning goals. The Mitchell, Ont. native comes off a big week that included seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) in three games.

Jared Woolley (London Knights) / St. Thomas Stars – The London Knights signee has been impressive for the St. Thomas Stars in the first quarter of the season. Logging big minutes for the Stars, the Port Hope, Ont. native has transitioned seamlessly into junior hockey, amassing 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) in 18 games. In his most recent call-up with the Knights, Woolley scored the teddy bear toss goal for his first career OHL goal on Dec. 5th.

Owen Edwards (Kitchener Rangers) / Elmira Sugar Kings – Another member of the 2023 Kitchener Rangers draft class, the Oshawa, Ont. native has been dominant between the pipes for the first place Elmira Sugar Kings. The sixth round pick is currently undefeated with an 12-0 record with a 2.24 GAA and .903 save percentage. The Whitby Wildcats alumnus signed his OHL scholarship and development agreement on Sep. 13.

NOJHL
Reyth Smith (North Bay Battalion) / Powassan Voodos – The Windsor, Ont. native has been a solid addition to the Powassan Voodoos program this season. The North Bay Battalion prospect has 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 30 games this season. The fifth-rounder from the 2023 Priority Selection scored his first career OHL goal on his first shot Wednesday night, launching the teddy bears at North Bay Memorial Gardens.

Hudson Chitaroni (Sudbury Wolves) / Greater Sudbury Cubs – The 2023 GNML Rookie of the Year has been a force in the NOJHL for the Greater Sudbury Cubs this season. The 48th overall pick in the 2023 Priority Selection currently leads the NOJHL in rookie scoring, tallying 18 goals and 22 assists for 40 points in just 30 games. Chitaroni, whose father Terry was captain of the Wolves in the early 90s, has appeared in four games with Sudbury this season.
