OHL Power Rankings: Jan. 19, 2026
Who’s up:
Ottawa 67’s – up one spot to #2 this week
The 67’s used a 3-0 showing to bump themselves back up to second on this week’s list, defeating Ottawa River rival Gatineau twice before a 5-2 win over Peterborough on Sunday. Cooper Foster led the charge with five points (1-4–5) over the three wins last week while rookie Thomas Vandenberg scored three times.
Windsor Spitfires – up one spot to #3 this week
The Spits took road wins over Erie and Brampton, and are neck-and-neck with first place Flint for the West Division lead. Joey Costanzo’s 22nd win of the season on Friday was the 97th of his OHL career as he closes in on the century mark. His 1.95 goals-against average leads the OHL.
Barrie Colts – up one spot to #4 this week
The Colts aren’t doing much losing lately, in fact they’ve won their last six, further strengthening their Central Division lead. Barrie beat Flint, Oshawa and Owen Sound with strong contributions from Emil Hemming (3-2–5), Kashawn Aitcheson (1-4–5) and Cole Beaudoin (2-3–5). Recent acquisition Ben Wilmott has also been a consistent producer since coming over from the London Knights.
Kitchener Rangers – up one spot to #5 this week
The Rangers took care of business, defeating Saginaw and Guelph at the Aud. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Jack Pridham (3-2–5) continues producing for the Blueshirts while Sam O’Reilly came up with Sunday’s late game-winner to beat Guelph 4-3, converting on a beautiful setup by defenceman Matthew Andonovski. Kitchener leads the Midwest Division by five points over second place London.
London Knights – up one spot to #8 this week
The Knights defeated Sarnia and Owen Sound, getting a two-goal effort out of recent addition Ryan Brown in Saturday’s 5-4 win at the Bayshore. The defending Memorial Cup champions are on a three-game winning streak, and host Sarnia and Peterborough next weekend following a Wednesday visit to Sault Ste. Marie.
Niagara IceDogs – up two spots to #11 this week
The Dogs lost a tight 1-0 affair in Peterborough before bouncing the number one team on the list. Ryan Roobroeck scored the game-winner 13 seconds into overtime as Niagara beat Brantford 4-3. The IceDogs did it without top scorer Riley Patterson in the lineup. Goaltender Vladislav Yermolenko continues to be one of the season’s steadying forces in Niagara, owning a 3.09 goals-against average and .908 save percentage over 31 games.
Sudbury Wolves – up one spot to #13 this week
The Wolves lost 2-1 to rival North Bay to start the week before beating the West Division-leading Flint Firebirds 7-2 and the QMJHL’s 23-12-4-2 Rouyn-Noranda Huskies by a score of 5-3. Fresh off competing in the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game, Rowan Henderson put up six points (1-5–6) for Sudbury last week while Blake Clayton had a big game on Sunday, recording two goals and two assists. The Wolves have a tough Friday test at home to Brantford before departing for four straight on the road.
Who’s down:
Flint Firebirds – down four spots to #6 this week
The Birds collected two of a possible six points on their northern road trip, losing in Barrie and Sudbury before rallying from a 3-0 deficit to beat North Bay 6-3. Winnipeg Jets prospect Kevin He continues to be a force for the Firebirds, recording six points (1-5–6) on the trip. Circle your calendars for a home-and-home with Windsor on Wednesday and Thursday.
Peterborough Petes – down one spot to #9 this week
The Petes lost 4-3 in Brantford, rode a 25-save shutout from Easton Rye to a 1-0 win over Niagara and fell 5-2 in Ottawa to close out the weekend. New addition Kieron Walton scored in all three games, and has six points (4-2–6) in four games since joining the Petes.
Kingston Frontenacs – down one spot to #12 this week
The Fronts were 6-3 winners over Brampton before falling 5-2 in Brantford on Saturday. Alex McLean continues to look like a solid pick-up by GM Kory Cooper, producing eight points (3-5–8) through his first nine games as a Frontenac. Kingston sits seventh in the Eastern Conference, two points back of sixth place Niagara. They host the Saginaw Spirit on Friday.
Guelph Storm – down two spots to #14 this week
The Storm fell 3-1 to Sault Ste. Marie before a late Kitchener goal resulted in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers. Next year’s Memorial Cup hosts have been riding an up-and-down wave through much of the season and have had to navigate some injury woes of late. Despite the losses, Zachary Jovanovski was very good in the Storm crease.
