OHL Power Rankings: Feb. 9, 2026
Who’s up:
Barrie Colts – up two spots to #1 this week
The Colts top the list for the first time this season, skating to a Friday night win over Brampton before back-to-back victories over the North Bay Battalion. Cogeco OHL Player of the Week Ben Wilmott factored heavily into the outcome of all three victories, including a late tying goal followed by the shootout winner at home on Saturday. Both Colts netminders have been excellent, and the team has lost just once in regulation over its last 18 games.
Ottawa 67’s – up two spots to #2 this week
The Barber Poles defeated both Brantford and Owen Sound on home ice as head coach Dave Cameron reached the 1,000-game milestone in the OHL. The 67’s continue to outgun opponents with their combination of depth and capable goaltending. Ryder Fetterolf is now 24-4-1-1 with a 1.90 goals-against average and .928 save percentage on the season in his bid for Rookie and Goaltender of the Year honours. Flint Firebirds – up one spot to #5 this week
The Firebirds emerge on top of the West Division triple threat also involving Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor this week, soundly defeating the Greyhounds 5-1 on the road Friday night. Flint also beat Sarnia and Erie last week as the Firebrids sit atop the Western Conference standings with a record of 35-12-3-2. The ‘Birds take on rival Saginaw at home Wednesday night before stops in Guelph and Erie on the weekend.
Soo Greyhounds – up one spot to #6 this week
Carter George continues to impressive, logging another shutout along with an impressive 37-save performance in Sunday’s 5-2 win over Windsor that saw Brady Martin make his return to the lineup. The Hounds fell 5-1 at home to Flint on Friday, and currently sit seven points back of third place Windsor in the Western Conference standings. The Hounds remain without the injured Chase Reid on the blue line.
Kingston Frontenacs – up one spot to #11 this week
The Fronts defeated the Brantford Bulldogs 2-1 in a shootout on Wednesday night, beat Owen Sound 5-3 back at home on Friday and lost 5-2 at home against the Bulldogs on Sunday. Rookie forward Nolan Snyder scored in all three games last week. Alex Misiak has proven to be a nice addition, with back-to-back two-assist performances on Friday and Sunday, and a total of 11 points (2-9–11) through 12 games since being acquired from Erie.
Sarnia Sting – up three spots to #14 this week
The Sting are up on this week’s list, defeating Brampton and Oshawa on the road with great goaltending from rookie Kale Osipenko. Jordan Bax had a big weekend, with two goals and an assist in Friday’s victory followed by an overtime-winner on Saturday in Brampton. Logan Hawery scored his first in a Sting uniform as well.
Who’s down:
Kitchener Rangers – down one spot to #3 this week
The Rangers defeated the London Knights 4-3 on a Sam O’Reilly OT winner, defeated rival Guelph 6-2 on Friday and lost 4-3 in Niagara on Saturday. Christian Humphreys’ first OHL hat-trick highlighted the weekend while Dylan Edwards was all over the scoresheet with eight points (3-5–8) in three games. Get ready for a Knights/Rangers rematch on Tuesday night at The Aud.
Brantford Bulldogs – down three spots to #4 this week
After holding top spot for four straight weeks, the Brantford Bulldogs are down to a season-low fourth on this week’s list following losses to Kingston and Ottawa before rebounding to beat the Frontenacs 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Dogs missed blueliner Ben Danford to injury over the weekend. They’re in action at home with games against Erie and Guelph on Friday and Saturday.
Windsor Spitfires – down two spots to #7 this week
The Spits spent the weekend in northern Ontario, losing 5-4 in a shootout to North Bay, beating Sudbury 5-2 and falling 5-2 in Sault Ste. Marie. Saturday’s win over Sudbury featured goaltender Joey Costanzo’s 100th career win, captain Liam Greentree’s 300th career point and former Wolves captain Nathan Villeneuve’s 200th career point. The Spitfires trail first place Flint by two points in the West Division.
Sudbury Wolves – down one spot to #12 this week
The Wolves lost 5-2 at home to Windsor on Friday, fell 4-1 in Peterborough on Saturday and salvaged the weekend with Genc Ula’s game-winner in a 4-3 overtime triumph over the Oshawa Generals on Sunday. Goaltenders Bjorn Bronas and Paolo Frasca both saw lots of rubber last week. Sunday’s win was Bronas’ 10th since joining the Wolves in November. Sudbury holds down the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference, with a four-point edge on Brampton.
Owen Sound Attack – down one spot to #15 this week
The Bears surged up the list last week, and proceeded to lose three straight on the road, picking up a point in Thursday’s overtime loss against Peterborough. The Attack are hanging around in the Western Conference, sitting one point up on seventh place Guelph and two points up on eighth place Saginaw entering a week with visits to Erie and Niagara before a home date with the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday.
Brampton Steelheads – down one spot to #16 this week
The Trout couldn’t match Barrie or Sarnia on home ice, and sit four points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Though they’ve lost three straight, they do find ways to keep the games close and have collected two points in the process. The Steelheads are in North Bay and Sudbury this week with a big four points up for grabs.
Erie Otters – down one spot and off the list this week
The Otters have lingered in the 16-hole the past two weeks but losses to Guelph, Saginaw and Flint push them back off the list. Things are looking a little bleak for Erie, sitting nine points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. They look to snap out of a four-game funk at home on Wednesday against an Owen Sound squad that has had struggles of its own.
