OHL Power Rankings: Dec. 15, 2025
Who’s up:
Soo Greyhounds – up one spot to #3 this week
The Hounds are riding a five-game winning streak, adding Kitchener, Brampton and Owen Sound to their latest conquests. Cogeco OHL Player of the Week Christopher Brown led the charge with seven points over three games last week as the Hounds won a pair without the services of star forward Brady Martin, who is embarking on World Junior service with Hockey Canada.
Flint Firebirds – up one spot to #5 this week
The Firebirds picked up five of a possible six points last week, defeating Guelph and Kitchener before falling 3-2 in a shootout to the Sarnia Sting. Alex Kostov carries a 16-game point streak into this week while Jimmy Lombardi joined Nathan Aspinall in the 20+ goal club over the weekend.
Barrie Colts – up two spots to #6 this week
The Colts continue to rack up the W’s, beating Owen Sound and Niagara last week. Barrie leads the Central Division with a record of 18-8-1-4. Goaltender Ben Hrebik leads the OHL with a .930 save percentage.
Peterborough Petes – up two spots to #9 this week
The Petes lost 6-3 to West Division-leading Windsor before rebounding to defeat the first place Brantford Bulldogs 5-3 at the PMC. Sophomore forward Adam Levac is having a great NHL Draft eligible season, producing 28 points (13-15–28) over 32 games including the game-winner on Saturday against Brantford.
North Bay Battalion – up two spots to #10 this week
The Troops beat Brampton 4-3 in overtime, lost 3-1 in Erie and defeated the Niagara IceDogs 7-3 on the road. Kaden Pitre has proven to be a nice addition in North Bay, recording eight points (4-4–8) over his first nine games with the Battalion. Lirim Amidovski became the Battalion’s first double-digit goal-scorer on Sunday.
Kingston Frontenacs – up three spots to #13 this week
The Fronts flirted with being off the list last week, but rebounded nicely with three straight wins to get back up to 13th. Two of the three wins came over the Oshawa Generals, sandwiching a 4-3 triumph over the fourth-ranked Windsor Spitfires. Matthew Minchak continues to be solid in the crease, making 34 saves for his first OHL shutout on Sunday. Kingston’s three-win week came without the services of injured forward Tyler Hopkins.
Sudbury Wolves – up three spots to #14 this week
The Wolves are figuring things out, climbing onto the power rankings for the first time since Oct. 27th. The Wolves came back to stun the Owen Sound Attack 7-6 in a shootout on Friday night, rallying from down 6-2 to collect two points. They bested the Brampton Steelheads 5-1 on Sunday, with another goal from Kieron Walton to give him 20 on the season. Bjorn Bronas is 4-1 in the Sudbury crease since joining the Wolves in mid-November.
Sarnia Sting – up one spot to #16 this week
The Sting are back on the power rankings for the first time since Nov. 10th following a 3-0 showing last week. Mathieu Turcotte’s squad defeated the Guelph Storm twice while also handing the Flint Firebirds a rare loss on home ice thanks to Ben Pickell’s overtime winner Saturday night. The Sting have now beaten Flint four times this season. Hunter Solomon scored his first goal in a Sting uniform on Sunday.
Who’s down:
Windsor Spitfires – down one spot to #4 this week
The Spits started their Eastern road swing off with a 6-3 win in Peterborough before losses to Kingston and Ottawa. They close out the first half on Thursday at home to Sault Ste. Marie.
Kitchener Rangers – down two spots to #7 this week
The Rangers lost 3-2 in overtime in Sault Ste. Marie, fell 4-1 in Flint and managed to beat the Saginaw Spirit 5-4 in a shootout, salvaging their road trip. Saturday’s win came courtesy Jack Pridham’s first career OHL hat-trick.
London Knights – down one spot to #8 this week
The Knights dropped two-of-three last week with head coach Dale Hunter off at Canada’s National Junior Team training camp, losing to Niagara and Brantford while beating Saginaw 5-3 at home on Friday. Sunday’s 2-0 loss in Brantford marked the first time the Knights have been shutout since Mar. 12, 2023 at North Bay.
Owen Sound Attack – down two spots to #11 this week
The Bears have been in a bit of tailspin, losing soundly to Barrie, letting a big lead slip away in Sudbury and dropping a 6-4 decision in Sault Ste. Marie. Cole Zurawski was sidelined by injury on Friday and Sunday. Matthew Koprowski and Trenten Bennett will get some long-awaited consistent playing time with Carter George away with Canada’s National Junior Team.
Guelph Storm – down two spots to #12 this week
The Storm have been streaky to say the least, losing four in a row, winning four in a row and now having lost another four in a row after coming up short against Flint, and Sarnia on two occasions. The Storm look for some consistency heading into the break with games in North Bay and Sudbury before returning for a road trip to Ottawa and Kingston to close-out 2025.
Niagara IceDogs – down four spots and off the list this week
The IceDogs join the Storm in the streaky department, losing nine in a row, winning. three straight and now having dropped their last two. The IceDogs beat the London Knights 4-3 on Thursday, lost 2-1 in Barrie on Saturday and then came out on the wrong side of a 7-3 outcome at home to North Bay on Sunday. The Dogs end their first half with a three-in-three against Peterborough, Flint and Sarnia starting Thursday.
Brampton Steelheads – down three spots and off the list this week
The Trout lost in North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury over the weekend and have lost six of their last seven. They’re off the power rankings for the first time since Nov. 3rd. They have Barrie and Kingston at home on Friday and Saturday.
