Feature Stories of the Week (NCAA)
Noah Morneau Earns CCHA Forward of the Week
Noah Morneau (Windsor) has been named CCHA Forward of the Week after leading the Falcons to a sweep of Ferris State with an outstanding offensive showing. Morneau tallied four goals and six points, posted a +2 rating, scored on the power play, and buried a game-winner. He was also strong in the faceoff circle, winning 57.9% (22-of-38) of his draws while averaging 17:14 of ice time. On Friday, he recorded a career-high four points—powered by his first collegiate hat trick—in a 9–5 victory. He added a goal and an assist on Saturday to help close out a 5–2 win and complete the sweep.
Porter Martone Named Big Ten Third Star
Porter Martone (Sarnia, Brampton) has been named the Big Ten’s Third Star of the Week following a dominant effort in Michigan State’s road sweep at Notre Dame. Martone scored three goals across the series, including the game-winner in both matchups, and set the tone with two first-period goals in the opener. Now leading the Spartans with 14 points (7G, 7A), he becomes the first Michigan State freshman to earn a Star Award since Shane Vansaghi received Third Star honours almost exactly one year ago on Nov. 19, 2024.
