OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week: Morgan Frost
Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Philadelphia Flyers prospect Morgan Frost of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week for the regular season week ending January 20 with 10 points in three games scoring seven goals and three assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-10.
Frost earns the award for the second time this season helping the Greyhounds to a trio of road victories against Central Division competition to extend their winning-streak to six games. His week was highlighted by an impressive five-goal performance on Sunday earning first star honours of the 7-4 win over the Sudbury Wolves. This marked Frost’s first career OHL hat-trick and included two even strength goals, one power play, one shorthanded, and an empty-net tally for the league’s top single game scoring output of the season. His five goals came one shy of the franchise record of six produced by Paul Mancini back in 1978. On Saturday night in Barrie, home of where Frost played his minor hockey, he scored twice with two assists and was named second star of the 8-5 win over the Colts. His week also included an assist on Thursday night contributing to a 5-1 win against the North Bay Battalion. The Greyhounds remain in first place atop the West Division standings with a 30-10-4-1 record.
