OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior Hockey returns for the 2016-17 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features 2017 NHL Draft prospect Sasha Chmelevski of the Ottawa 67’s who enters the weekend fourth in team scoring with 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points in 39 games.
A 17-year-old from Northville, Michigan, Chmelevski is playing in his second season in the nation’s capital after being acquired from the Sarnia Sting who chose him in the first round of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. Chmelevski was ranked 38th among North American skaters for the 2017 NHL Draft by NHL Central Scouting and recently competed in the 2017 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game scoring a goal for Team Orr.
Chmelevski chats with Doyle about his Top Prospects Game experience in Quebec City, bonding with new teammates, and showcasing his abilities for NHL scouts. He also talks about his season so far in Ottawa, and his initial decision to play in the OHL as a young hockey player growing up in California then Michigan.
