OHL Friday Night Faceoff: Windsor at Sarnia

The OHL Friday Night Faceoff spotlight shines on the West Division this week as the Sarnia Sting host the Windsor Spitfires at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in one of seven Friday night games across the league. Fans can watch the action live and free on FloHockey’s YouTube, X, and Facebook channels, as well as the OHL’s Facebook page and the pages of both participating teams. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.

This week also marks OHL Rivalry Week, and Friday’s matchup is the first of two meetings between the Spitfires and Sting over the weekend. These two clubs have built one of the league’s most heated rivalries over the years, making for an intense start to Rivalry Week in front of a loud Sarnia crowd.

The Sting boast a talented roster highlighted by recent fourth overall OHL Priority Selection pick Brenner Lammens, who has brought a strong two-way presence to Sarnia’s lineup early in the season. Fellow top 2026 NHL Draft prospects Alessandro Di Iorio and Beckham Edwards have also been key contributors, both off to impressive starts that have caught the attention of scouts across the league.

The visiting Spitfires enter the night as one of the OHL’s hottest teams, earning points in nine of their first eleven games. Goaltender Joey Costanzo has been exceptional, posting a 7-0 record to lead the league in wins, goals-against average, and save percentage. Up front, Ethan Belchetz, a top 2026 NHL Draft prospect, continues to drive Windsor’s offense with his combination of size and skill that has made him one of the most talked-about young forwards in the league.

Friday’s matchup marks the first meeting of the season between these West Division rivals, setting the stage for a high-tempo battle between two talented, young lineups.
