OHL Friday Night Faceoff: Guelph at Kitchener
Friday Night Faceoff heads to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium this week as the Kitchener Rangers host the Guelph Storm in a Midwest Division matchup with significant standings implications. Fans can watch the game live and free across FloHockey’s social platforms. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
Kitchener enters the night as the hottest team in the Ontario Hockey League. The Rangers have won nine of their last ten games and have not lost in regulation in 12 straight contests. With 69 points, Kitchener sits one point out of first place in the Western Conference and continues to lead the Midwest Division.
The Rangers’ offence is led by Jack Pridham, who ranks tied for third in OHL scoring with 62 points, Christian Humphreys sits second in team scoring with 60 points and has remained a key contributor through the middle of the lineup. Kitchener also added significant depth at the trade deadline, bringing in Dylan Edwards and Sam O’Reilly, while Gabriel Sherratt and Jaredd Woolley have strengthened the blue line. Woolley, a Los Angeles Kings prospect, has taken on increased responsibility since arriving. In goal, Christian Kirsch is expected to get the start.
Guelph comes in seventh in the Western Conference with 42 points and is looking to rebound after back-to-back losses over the weekend. The Storm have relied heavily on their veteran group to carry the offence.
Overage forward Ethan Miedema leads Guelph in scoring and has been a consistent threat throughout the season. Tyler Hopkins, acquired earlier this year, sits second in team scoring with 34 points and has added experience and stability to the Storm lineup. Draft-eligible forward Carter Stevens has continued to develop, while rookie Yakko Wissick, a first-round pick in the most recent OHL Priority Selection, has shown flashes in his first OHL season. In goal, Guelph is expected to turn to Zach Jovanovsky. The 2026 NHL Draft eligible goaltender has started a number of games recently and will be tasked with slowing down a Kitchener offence that has been producing at one of the highest rates in the league.
With Kitchener surging toward the top of the Western Conference and Guelph looking to stabilize its playoff position, Friday’s matchup presents a key test for both clubs as the regular season moves into its final stretch.
