NHL Debut: Logan Morrison (Mar. 26, 2024)
Ottawa 67’s graduate Logan Morrison saw his first NHL action on Tuesday night as the Seattle Kraken shutout the Anaheim Ducks 4-0. The 21-year-old Guelph, Ont. native registered three shots, one hit and one block through 14:21 of ice-time.
The 6-foot, 170lb. forward has registered 15 goals and 40 points in 60 games played with the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds this season. Morrison played three seasons in the OHL from 2018-23, entering the League as a first-round (18th overall) pick by the Hamilton Bulldogs in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. Throughout his four-year OHL tenure, Morrison recorded 111 goals, 162 assists, and 273 points over 222 regular season contests between the Bulldogs and the 67’s. The 2021-22 season saw Morrison win an OHL championship with the Hamilton Bulldogs after leading the OHL in playoff goals (17) and ranking second in points with 39, which set a Bulldogs franchise record for playoff points in a single season. His offensive efforts won him the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as the OHL Playoffs Most Valuable Player, and he went on the be named the Most Sportsmanlike Player at the 2022 Memorial Cup.
An Undrafted Free-Agent, Morrison signed an entry-level contract with the Kraken on April 12.
