NHL Debut: Jorian Donovan (March 24th, 2026)

Jorian Donovan is set to make his NHL debut tonight with the Ottawa Senators in a crucial Atlantic Division matchup against the Detroit Red Wings.

The 21-year-old defenceman is in his second full season with the Belleville Senators of the AHL, where he has recorded a career-high 21 points (4-17–21) in 58 games.

Selected 136th overall by Ottawa in the 2022 NHL Draft, Donovan was playing with the Hamilton/Brantford Bulldogs at the time and had captured an OHL championship the season prior. He was then later traded to the Saginaw Spirit, where he went on to win a Memorial Cup. 

Originally chosen sixth overall by the Bulldogs in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Donovan totalled 113 points (28-85–113) across 185 OHL games. Internationally, he represented Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Donovan’s father, Shean, spent the final three seasons of his NHL career with the Senators from 2007 to 2010, making them the first father-son duo to play for the franchise.
