Milestone Moments: November 22, 2018
PAUL COTTER (LONDON KNIGHTS):
A quick trigger worked in Paul Cotter‘s favour on Thursday, helping him score his first OHL goal in a 7-4 London Knights win over visiting Mississauga. Linemate Liam Foudy created the opportunity and Cotter snapped a wrister past Steelheads netminder Jacob Ingham 6:06 into action. Cotter’s first goal comes in just his third game of the season after the Knights signed the former Western Michigan University forward as a free agent on November 12th. The 19-year-old from Canton, Mich. was a fourth round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights last summer.
KALLAWAY MERCER (KINGSTON FRONTENACS):
Kallaway Mercer scored his first OHL marker 6:54 into the third period of an 8-2 road loss against the Peterborough Petes. The Kingston Frontenacs forward had help from newly acquired linemate Ian Martin, giving him his first tally in his 19th career OHL contest. A graduate of the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget program, Mercer was Kingston’s ninth round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.
JACOB TORTORA (BARRIE COLTS):
Newly added forward Jacob Tortora scored in his first OHL contest, helping the Barrie Colts take a 7-5 road win over the Erie Otters on American Thanksgiving. The Victor, NY native and former Boston College forward had four shots on goal in his OHL debut, scoring 1:39 into the third period with help from Jason Willms and Matej Pekar. Tortora was originally Barrie’s first round (19th overall) pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection from the Don Mills Flyers Minor Midgets.
