McMullen, Robertson and Trolley commit to Petes
Peterborough, ON – Peterborough Petes General Manager Mike Oke recently announced that the team has received commitments from 2018 OHL Priority Selection pick Keegan McMullen, 2019 OHL Priority Selection pick Tucker Robertson and free agent Curtis Trolley.
McMullen, a 5’11”, 163lbs left winger, was selected in the 15th round, 300th overall by the Petes in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. The 2002-born Cambridge native recorded 15 goals, 16 assists, 31 points, and 34 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League last season.
“It’s an honour to sign with the Petes,” commented McMullen. “It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play in the OHL.”
Robertson, a 5’10”, 170lbs right winger, was selected in the 4th round, 72nd overall by the Petes in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. The 2003-born Toronto native registered 29 goals, 37 assists, 66 points, and 36 penalty minutes with the Toronto Minor Midget AAA Marlboros of the GTHL last season, where he was a teammate of Petes defenceman Artem Guryev. Robertson won gold at the 2019 OHL Gold Cup with Team GTHL Blue.
“It’s always been my goal to play in the OHL, and I’m honoured to be a member of the Peterborough Petes,” commented Robertson. “I think I can bring a lot of skill and grit to the team, and I can’t wait to get started.”
“We’re very excited to have Tucker join our team,” added Oke. “He made a great impression at Training Camp last week, and we’re happy that he’s chosen to commit to the Petes and to play in the Ontario Hockey League.”
Trolley, a 5’11”, 160lbs 2001-born centre, attended 2019 Petes Training Camp as a free agent. A Peterborough native, he registered 10 goals, 15 assists, 25 points, and 93 penalty minutes with the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Lindsay Muskies last season. Trolley was originally selected in the 12th round, 240th overall from the Peterborough Minor Midget AAA Petes by the Erie Otters in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
“Being from Peterborough and having grown up watching the Petes play, it’s an incredible feeling to be able to officially wear the maroon and white,” added Trolley.
