Malhotra sets new Bulldogs rookie points record
Caleb Malhotra etched his name into the Brantford Bulldogs record books on Friday night, becoming the highest-scoring rookie in club history.
In a dominant 5-1 victory over the Erie Otters, Malhotra recorded a goal and an assist to bring his season total to 66 points (24-42–66) over 51 games. This performance vaulted him past the previous franchise mark of 65 points, set during the 2023-24 season by current Bulldogs captain Jake O’Brien.
The milestone puts Malhotra in elite company; O’Brien’s record-setting 2023-24 campaign ultimately earned him OHL Rookie of the Year honours.
Currently considered a top-ranked prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, Caleb is continuing a family legacy of on-ice excellence. His father, Manny Malhotra, is an OHL graduate who went on to play nearly 1,000 games in the National Hockey League.
