IceDogs’ Noah Van Vliet commits to Sacred Heart
Niagara IceDogs overage defenceman Noah Van Vliet has committed to Sacred Heart University for the 2025-26 season.
A 6-foot-2, 222Ib. blueliner, Van Vliet has put up 12 points (3-9–12) through 38 games with the Niagara IceDogs in his fourth OHL season. The former OHL champion with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2022 has recorded 44 points (10-34–44) over 178 career regular season games in a career that has also included time with the Sudbury Wolves. The 20-year-old from Toronto, Ont. was originally selected by Hamilton in the fourth round (66th overall) of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
Sacred Heart University (SHU), located in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a private Roman Catholic institution. Its athletic teams, the Pioneers, compete in NCAA Division I as members of the Northeast Conference (NEC). Notable alumni include Marc Johnstone and Justin Danforth, both of whom have appeared in the NHL.
