IceDogs acquire 17-year-old forward Arrowsmith from Knights
The Niagara IceDogs added some young forward depth earlier this week, acquiring sophomore right-winger Blake Arrowsmith from the London Knights in a trade announced Tuesday. The Knights acquired a pair of third-round picks along with a 2025 sixth-round choice in the move.
Arrowsmith had produced six points (4-2–6) through 15 games with the Knights so far this season. He split 2023-24 between the Knights and the GOJHL’s London Nationals, producing 12 goals, 16 assists and 28 points over 32 games at the Junior B level.
The Knights selected Arrowsmith, from Solon, Ohio, in the third round (55th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Cleveland Barons AAA program.
“He needed an opportunity to play,” Knights General Manager Mark Hunter told the London Free Press’ Ryan Pyette. “He’s 17 and he’s caught in some numbers games here. He’s a good player and he has pretty good stats for limited ice.”
Arrowsmith joins the 14-8-0-1 IceDogs on home ice against the Guelph Storm tonight. The Knights begin a three-game weekend road trip in Peterborough.
