Generals, Spitfires and 67’s in Kia CHL Top 10

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the week eight edition of the Kia CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2019-20 season.  The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

The Oshawa Generals are inside the Kia CHL Top 10 for the sixth time this season, dropping one spot after a weekend split against Kingston and London. After a 9-0 start, the Generals are 3-3-0-1 over their past seven games. They’ll be tested this coming weekend with an East Division showdown on Friday in Ottawa before returning home to host the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday night.

Winners of six straight, the Windsor Spitfires are up to eighth in the weekly rankings, entering the Top 10 for the first time this season. Windsor took a commanding 10-2 win over the Soo Greyhounds in their lone action last weekend as 2020 NHL Draft prospect Jean-Luc Foudy extended his current point streak to seven games. The Spits have had offensive contributions from the back end as veteran Connor Corcoran and rookie Ruben Rafkin are both close to a point-per-game on the campaign.

Another team riding a six-game winning streak, the Ottawa 67’s climb back into the Top 10 after consecutive road wins over Niagara, Erie and Hamilton. Top 2020 NHL Draft prospect Marco Rossi leads the way offensively, registering a point in each of his 11 games this season. OHL Defenceman of the Month for October Noel Hoefenmayer leads all blueliners with 25 points (7-18–25) over 16 games.

The Peterborough Petes remain an honourable mention on the heels of a 5-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on Tuesday. The Petes split a pair of contests in northern Ontario, falling to the Sudbury Wolves before defeating the North Bay Battalion 8-3 on Sunday.
