Generals’ Oster earns 100th win in final regular season game
Jacob Oster joined exclusive company on Sunday night, making 31 saves to become the sixth goaltender in OHL history to earn 100 career regular season wins. Oster was the game’s first star as the Generals beat the visiting Peterborough Petes 5-2 thanks to an Owen Griffin hat-trick.
The reigning OHL Goaltender of the Year from Ottawa, Ont. joins JP Anderson (126), Kyle Gajewski (114), Joseph Raaymakers (109), Devin Williams (106) and Adam Dennis (100) in the OHL’s 100-win club, doing so in his final regular season game.
Seventy-five of Oster’s 100 career victories have come with the Oshawa Generals, placing him third in franchise history behind Peter Sidorkiewicz (81) and Daniel Altshuller (78). He played to a 32-17-3-1 mark with a 2.81 goals-against average and .904 save percentage in his overage season, rounding out his OHL regular season career with a record of 100-64-15-5 with a 3.15 goals-against average, .895 save percentage and nine shutouts between Oshawa and Guelph.
Oster and the Generals embark on a first round playoff series against the Brampton Steelheads on Friday night at the Tribute Communities Centre.
