Frontenacs hire Troy Mann as Head Coach
Kingston, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs have named Troy Mann as the new head coach of the Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club.
Mann, 54, brings professional coaching experience to the Frontenacs as he has served as a head coach in the American Hockey League and the ECHL. Mann has been the head coach for the Columbia Inferno (ECHL: 2006-08), Bakersfield Condors (ECHL: 2013-14), Hershey Bears (AHL: 2014-18), and the Belleville Senators (AHL: 2018-2023). Troy has accumulated over 400 wins as the head coach of his professional teams. Most recently, with the Bellville Senators, he collected a 150-117-15-7 record in 289 games behind the bench.
“The Kingston Frontenacs are pleased to welcome Troy Mann as the Head Coach of the Kingston Frontenacs,” announced General Manager Kory Cooper. “Troy brings experience to our team, a track record of developing players and a winning pedigree. Bringing in a coach of Troy’s caliber is a credit to our ownership group and shows their commitment to bringing a winning hockey team to the City of Kingston.”
Troy was able to help the 2009-10 Hershey Bears hoist the 2010 Calder Cup as an Assistant Coach. The Bears defeated the Texas Stars in the best-of-seven series in six games to capture the AHL championship.
“Being able to hire a coach with Troy’s experience, especially as our season is underway, was an attractive part to making him the head coach of the Frontenacs,” said Cooper. “We have a talented group of players and Troy will be able to come in, work with them and elevate them as individuals and as a team. I have experience working with Troy and I have seen firsthand the leadership and development he brings to an organization.”
Troy will take over as head coach immediately. The Kingston Frontenacs will be in action this upcoming Friday, October 27th for Hockey Fights Cancer Night to take on the visiting Oshawa Generals, before heading to Mississauga to play the Steelheads on Saturday, October 28th.
