Frontenacs acquire Alex Misiak from Otters

The Kingston Frontenacs have acquired forward Alex Misiak from the Erie Otters in exchange for future OHL Priority Selection picks.

As part of the deal, Erie receives a 2027 third-round pick (Saginaw) and a 2029 third-round pick (Kingston).

Misiak, 18, is in his first season in the OHL after being selected 32nd overall in the 2025 CHL Import Draft. The 6-foot, 180-pound left-shot forward has appeared in 31 games this season, recording 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) with the Otters.

A native of Malinovo, Slovakia, Misiak began the 2024-25 season playing in his home country before joining the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL in January. He also recently represented Slovakia at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship in Minnesota, where he recorded one assist in four games.

“Alex will be an excellent addition to our roster,” said Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper. “He’s a player we followed closely throughout his import draft year. He brings skill and physicality, and he’ll be eligible again next season, so we’re excited about what he can bring both now and in the future.”

Misiak reunites in Kingston with fellow Slovak forward Tomas Pobezal, with whom he previously played alongside at the World Juniors.

“Having Tomas in the room will help ease the transition for Alex,” Cooper added. “It will be exciting to watch that chemistry continue to develop here in Kingston.”

Eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft, Misiak departs Erie after a short but productive stint with the Otters.

“The Erie Otters thank Alex for his time in Erie and wish him the best moving forward,” said Otters Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve.

The move allows Kingston to add a young import forward with international experience, while Erie continues to build its collection of future draft assets.
