Friday Night Faceoff: Spitfires at Rangers

The Windsor Spitfires head to Kitchener to face the Rangers in a battle between two of the Western Conference’s top teams. Both clubs have already secured a postseason spot, but with just five points separating them in the standings, this matchup could have a big impact on playoff positioning.

Ranked third in the Western Conference, the Kitchener Rangers (41-13-4-2) enter the game looking to build on their momentum after earning five of a possible six points last week.

Backstopping his team to success this season, Jackson Parsons has been a force in net, ranking second in both save percentage and goals-against average. He holds a 34-11-3-0 record, including four shutouts, along with a 2.26 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.

The Rangers remain an offensive threat, with overage forwards Adrian Misaljevic (27-31-58) and Trent Swick (26-31-57) leading the team in scoring. Swick recently signed an entry-level contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.

One spot ahead as the second-ranked team in the Western Conference, the Windsor Spitfires look to bounce back after a tough week that saw them drop two of three games.

Led by captain Liam Greentree, the 2024 first round pick of the Los Angeles Kings sits third among all OHL point-getters and goal scorers this season, recording 43 goals, 62 assists, and 105 points. Right behind him, Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas has been a dominant addition to the Spitfires, tallying 102 points (43-59-102) in 55 games played.
