Friday Night Faceoff: Spirit at Knights

The Saginaw Spirit and London Knights are set to face off in a Western Conference showdown in the next Friday Night Faceoff! In a rematch of last year’s Memorial Cup final, fans can expect a high-intensity battle at Canada Life Place featuring some of the OHL’s top talent.
Ranked fourth in the Western Conference, the reigning 2024 Memorial Cup champion Saginaw Spirit (36-24-2-1) have secured their spot in the 2025 OHL Playoffs. After a tough loss to end a four-point week, the Spirit will rely on their top point-getters as they visit the OHL’s top team on Friday night.
Top 2025 NHL Draft prospect and OHL point leader Michael Misa (58-66-124) continues to be a difference-maker for the Spirit, recording eight multi-point performances in his last 10 games. Back-to-back OHL Defenceman of the Month Zayne Parekh (Calgary Flames) leads the blueline with 101 points (32-69-101), becoming the first defenceman to reach 100 points this season. Saginaw’s rookies have also impressed, with Carson Harmer and Jacob Cloutier each surpassing 45 points among the league’s top rookie point-getters.
The first team to clinch a spot in the 2025 OHL Playoffs, the reigning 2024 OHL champions London Knights remain the hottest team in the league, leading the standings with a 50-9-2-0 record. Their success recently earned Head Coach Dale Hunter his 1,000th OHL win last Friday night. With a busy four-game week ahead, the Knights look to maintain their momentum.
Backed by the standout goaltending duo of Austin Elliott and Aleksei Medvedev, who both rank among the league’s top netminders, the Knights continue to shine defensively. On the blueline, San Jose Sharks prospect Sam Dickinson leads the way with 79 points (25-54-79), while captain Denver Barkey (Philadelphia Flyers) follows closely behind with 78 points as the Knights push toward back-to-back championships.
