Firebirds sign 2023 selection Brendan Cooke

FLINT, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds have announced that forward Brendan Cooke has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.

Cooke was selected by the Firebirds in the eighth round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. He played the 2023-24 season in the NOJHL with the Blind River Beavers where he had 13 goals and 16 assists in 55 games.

“I’m honored to sign with such a great organization,” Cooke said. “I can’t wait to get started.”

The 2007-born forward will be eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.

Scouting Report from Head Scout Mike Oliverio:
Cooke is a smart, cerebral, 200-foot forward who does a lot of the little things right. He has good anticipation, sees the ice well and is always aware of where everyone is on the ice. He has that knack for scoring goals and has a high compete level.
