Bulldogs’ Jiricek sets new club mark for single season goals by a blueliner
Adam Jiricek made Brantford Bulldogs history on Thursday, scoring twice to lead them to a 5-3 road win over the Barrie Colts.
Jiricek’s first goal of the night marked his 16th of the season, pushing him ahead of 2022 OHL and CHL Defenceman of the Year Nathan Staios’ prior mark of 15 in the Bulldogs’ record books for most single season goals by a blueliner. The St. Louis Blues first round pick tacked on another, giving him 17 goals, 34 assists and 51 points over 48 games with a plus/minus rating of plus-25.
Selected by Brantford in the first round (19th overall) of the 2023 CHL Import Draft, Jiricek was excellent for Czechia at the 2026 World Juniors, recording six points (5-1–6) over seven games. The 19-year-old from Plzen, Czechia had 12 points (4-8–12) over 27 games as a rookie with Brantford in 2024-25. The Blues selected him with the 16th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Jiricek and the Bulldogs hold a one-point cushion over the Kitchener Rangers in the race for the Hamilton Spectator Trophy awarded to the OHL’s regular season champion.
