Bulldogs’ Jake O’Brien signs with Kraken
The Seattle Kraken announced Thursday that they’ve signed first round (8th overall) 2025 NHL Draft pick Jake O’Brien to a three-year entry-level NHL contract.
O’Brien signed at the club’s Development Camp, coming off a 98-point season with the Brantford Bulldogs that saw him collect 32 goals and 66 assists over 66 games.
A 6-foot-2, 170Ib. centreman from Toronto, Ont., O’Brien was voted the OHL’s Rookie of the Year in 2023-24 before winning a Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medal with Canada last summer.
In 127 career regular season games with Brantford, O’Brien has recorded 45 goals, 117 assists and 162 points.
