Bulldogs’ Budnick signs with AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced that they have signed Brantford Bulldogs overage defenceman Tommy Budnick to an American Hockey League contract for the 2025-26 season.
Budnick, 21, split his final season of junior hockey between the Guelph Storm and Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League. The left-handed rearguard recorded career highs in all offensive categories, posting seven goals, 20 assists, and 27 points in 46 games. He also added one goal and four assists in 11 post-season contests.
Originally selected in the third round (59th overall) of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection by the Kingston Frontenacs, Budnick totaled 15 goals, 69 assists, and 84 points over 233 regular-season OHL games with the Frontenacs, Storm, and Bulldogs.
