Attack acquire former ninth-overall pick Caden Taylor from Petes
The Owen Sound Attack have acquired forward Caden Taylor from the Peterborough Petes in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick (Ottawa) and a conditional 2028 fifth-round pick (Kingston).
Taylor, a 2007-born forward from Shanty Bay, was originally selected ninth overall by the Sudbury Wolves in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound winger brings size, scoring touch, and a strong north-south game to the Attack lineup.
Before joining the OHL, Taylor won a GTHL Championship with the Mississauga Senators and helped the club earn a silver medal at the 2023 OHL Cup.
Taylor began his OHL career with Sudbury before being traded to Peterborough in January 2024 in a deal that sent defenceman Donovan McCoy to the Wolves. He scored 12 goals as a rookie between Sudbury and Peterborough during the 2023-24 season.
Last season, Taylor recorded 15 goals and 31 points in 65 games with the Petes. Through eight games this season, he’s collected three points (1G-2A).
Ranked 131st among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft in Los Angeles, Taylor attended Development Camp with the Pittsburgh Penguins after going unselected.
Taylor joins an Owen Sound group continuing to add depth and skill up front as the Midwest Division-leading Attack look to build momentum through the 2025-26 OHL season.
