67’s’ Pinelli signs with Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets announced, today, that they have signed Ottawa 67’s captain Luca Pinelli to a three-year entry-level contract.
“Luca has earned this opportunity through his high-end skill, and relentless work ethic,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “The 67’s are excited to be a part of this special milestone in Luca’s hockey journey.”
The 19-year-old forward enjoyed the most productive season of his OHL career thus far in 2024, his first as captain of the 67’s. The Stoney Creek, Ont. native finished third in the League with a career-high 48 goals, and added 34 assists to pace the team with 82 points, adding another five goals in 10 postseason games.
Drafted in the second round, 28th overall by Ottawa in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 program, Pinelli has appeared in 194 regular season games across three seasons, scoring 91 goals and 90 assists, for 181 points. He was selected in the fourth round, 114th overall by Columbus in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
