67’s’ Morrison signs with Kraken
The Seattle Kraken announced Tuesday that they’ve signed Ottawa 67’s overage forward Logan Morrison to a three-year entry-level NHL contract.
Last year’s recipient of the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award presented to the MVP of the OHL Playoffs, Morrison picked up where he left off with the OHL champion Bulldogs, putting up 94 points (40-54–94) over 56 regular season games between Ottawa and Hamilton in 2022-23. He was Ottawa’s nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy, an award annually presented to the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player as voted by members of the media.
“During his time with the 67’s, Logan has continued to show the skill and leadership that led Hamilton to the OHL title last season, earning him the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as OHL Playoff MVP,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “The 67’s are thrilled to be a part of this special moment in Logan’s hockey career.”
Leading the 2023 OHL Playoffs with seven goals in five games, Morrison has continued a playoff point-streak of 29 games when including his five Memorial Cup contests with the Hamilton Bulldogs last year in Saint John, NB.
A 21-year-old native of Guelph, Ont., Morrison accumulated 273 career regular season points (111-162–273) over 222 games in four seasons. Hamilton’s first round (18th overall) pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, Morrison holds the Bulldogs’ all-time assists record, recording 143 over 200 games.
