67’s’ Matthew Mayich commits to Clarkson University
Ottawa 67’s overage defenceman Matthew Mayich has announced his commitment to Clarkson University for the 2025-26 NCAA hockey season.
A native of Stoney Creek, ON, Mayich was selected 74th overall by the Ottawa 67’s in the fourth round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, and later chosen 170th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2023 NHL Draft. He spent all four seasons of his career with the 67’s, recording 99 points (21-78–99) across 256 regular-season games. He served as an alternate captain for the club over the past two seasons.
Mayich participated in the Blues’ training camp and their Prospect Showcase before returning to Ottawa for the 2024-25 season.
Clarkson University, a private institution located in Potsdam, New York, is home to the Golden Knights men’s hockey team – an NCAA Division I program that competes in the ECAC conference. The Golden Knights hockey program has produced some familiar NHL names, such as current Calgary Flames General Manager Craig Conroy and former long-time Los Angeles Kings forward Dave Taylor.
Mayich is the fourth OHL player committed to the Golden Knights for the 2025-26 season, joining forwards Owen Van Steensel (Barrie Colts), Adrian Misaljevic (Kitchener Rangers) and goaltender Jackson Parsons (Kitchener Rangers).
