21 OHL Players Chasing Gold at 2019 IIHF World Juniors
The Ontario Hockey League is proud to announce that a total of 21 current OHL players are listed on official International Ice Hockey Federation rosters to open the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia.
The 21 players includes a representative from eight of the 10 participating countries including nine Canadians, three Americans, two players from the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Switzerland, and one from Finland, Russia, and Slovakia. An additional four players competing in the tournament are former OHL players.
13 OHL teams are represented by current players including the Oshawa Generals who lead the way with four players competing in the tournament followed by the London Knights, Niagara IceDogs, Ottawa 67’s, Owen Sound Attack, and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds each with two.
Last season, 20 OHL players competed in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo.
