OHL Power Rankings: Nov. 17, 2025
Who’s up:
Ottawa 67’s – up three spots to #2 this week
The 67’s continue to demonstrate that they are, in fact, for real. Ottawa rattled off victories over Kingston, Sarnia and Niagara last week, continuing to get great goaltending from the duo of Ryder Fetterolf and Jaeden Nelson with just 52 goals allowed across 22 games, and that, despite having the worst penalty kill in the league at 69.6 percent. Tells you they’re doing something right at even strength.
London Knights – up one spot to #3 this week
The Knights are back with a vengeance, putting their 0-5 finish to start the regular season in the rearview mirror. They’ve won 13 of their 16 games since that point with their latest conquests coming against Owen Sound and Sault Ste. Marie following a 3-2 loss to the Flint Firebirds on the road Wednesday night. The Knights are right there with the aforementioned 67’s in terms of goals-against, surrendering 53 over 21 games. Ben Wilmott has proven to be a great addition, producing 19 points (8-11–19) in as many games in his first OHL season.
Soo Greyhounds – up three spots to #4 this week
The Hounds were very good on the road this past weekend, defeating first place Windsor 4-3 in overtime, blanking Kitchener 4-0 and falling 3-2 in a shootout to London. NHL Draft prospect Chase Reid continues to prove he’s worth the hype, leading the team with 27 points (9-18–27) over 24 games. Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Jordan Charron sits second in OHL goal-scoring with 17 tallies.
Flint Firebirds – up two spots to #6 this week
The ‘Birds are on a six-game winning streak, defeating London, Brantford and Owen Sound as they nip at the heels of the Windsor Spitfires in this week’s edition of the power rankings. Captain Nathan Aspinall is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week with seven points (4-3–7) in last week’s action. Last week’s success came without Alex Kostov, who missed action due to injury. The Firebirds prepare for a three-in-three with stops in Brampton, Guelph and Owen Sound this week.
Guelph Storm – up two spots to #10 this week
The Stormers outpowered first place Windsor with an eight-goal showing on Friday night, a win that featured a goal and three assists from Jett Luchanko. Guelph bested rival Kitchener 3-2 on Saturday night, giving them wins in eight of their last 10 games. Shorthanded on the blueline, forward Wil McFadden filled in on the back end and recorded six points (1-5–6) in the two wins. Settle in for a Tuesday night rematch between the Storm and the Rangers at the Aud.
North Bay Battalion – up one spot to #14 this week
The Troops won a pair of games at home, defeating Erie 4-2 before outlasting the Saginaw Spirit in a 6-5 shootout victory on Sunday. The score-by-committee Battalion features 11 different players in their lineup with at least 10 points. They prepare to host the London Knights on Thursday.
Brampton Steelheads – up one spot to #15 this week
The Steelheads beat Oshawa 3-1 on Friday night before playing the first place Brantford Bulldogs real tight in a 5-4 loss on Saturday. Seattle Kraken prospect Jakub Fibigr continues to be impactful, leading Brampton with a plus-13 rating, going plus-5 over the weekend. The Steelheads currently hold down the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 8-11-1-0.
Saginaw Spirit – up one spot to #16 this week
The young Spirit were in three straight one-goal games on the road. Carson Harmer scored the OT winner in a 2-1 triumph over the Barrie Colts on Thursday. The Spirit let one slip away on Friday in Sudbury, losing 2-1 in the game’s final shifts. They pulled a point out of North Bay courtesy four goals from Dimian Zhilkin in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Battalion. The Spirit have shown they can create offence, and have had some solid goaltending performances from Stepan Shurygin but the big netminder faces his share of quality scoring chances.
Who’s down:
Windsor Spitfires – down three spots to #5 this week
The Spits slipped a little last week, losing 4-3 in overtime to Sault Ste. Marie at home on Thursday before an 8-5 loss on the road Friday night in Guelph. Their next test comes in a home-and-home against Saginaw, a team that has given them fits in two prior meetings this season.
Kitchener Rangers – down four spots to #7 this week
The Rangers struggled to create offence last week, being shutout 4-0 by Sault Ste. Marie before being held off the scoresheet into the third period in Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Guelph. The Blueshirts get another crack at the Storm at home on Tuesday night in a battle of two teams vying to host the 2027 Memorial Cup.
Owen Sound Attack – down two spots to #8 this week
The Bears lost 5-2 to London on Friday before dropping a 6-2 decision in Flint on Saturday, surrendering six unanswered goals. Tristan Delisle (15-16–31) and Pierce Mbuyi (13-18–31) are tied for the team scoring lead with 31 points apiece.
Niagara IceDogs – down two spots to #12 this week
The Dogs are in a bit of a tailspin, losing their last five games. Captain Kevin He was out of the lineup last week for losses in Kingston and Ottawa. It doesn’t easier with the Brantford Bulldogs visiting the Meridian Centre on Thursday.
Sarnia Sting – down three spots and off the list this week
The Sting suffered losses in Peterborough and Ottawa before dismissing head coach Alan Letang leading into Sunday’s 5-2 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. It’s back to the drawing board for the Sting, who own a record of 6-11-3-1, sitting four points out of a playoff spot heading into a Friday night visit to first place Brantford.
