IceDogs sign recent acquisition Jacob Monks

Niagara, ON – The Niagara IceDogs are pleased to announced the signing of Jacob Monks, to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Monks was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 OHL Priority selection (83rd overall) by the London Knights and was acquired by the IceDogs via trade on June 19th.

The Wyandotte, Michigan native played 66 games last season with the Detroit Little Caesars U16 AAA where he recorded 39 goals and 38 assists.

IceDogs General Manager Frank Evola described Monks as “A good two-way centre that plays with a little bit of an edge and a little bite to his game.”

Monks got into one game with the USHL’s Fargo Force in 2024-25 while also appearing briefly with the U.S. National Development Program. He is committed to Merrimack College based out of North Andover, Massachusetts.
