Knights acquire overage goaltender Austin Elliott
The London Knights made a move in the crease on Wednesday, acquiring overage goaltender Austin Elliott from the Barrie Colts. The Colts had claimed the netminder off CHL waivers earlier in the day as he comes to the OHL from the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades. The Knights dealt Barrie a 14th round selection in 2026 (Brampton’s) along with a conditional fifth round pick in 2027, one that goes to the Colts should Elliott play in one regular season game.
Elliott is off to a 3-0 start in 2024-25 and owns a career WHL record of 58-14-5-1 over 85 regular season games with Saskatoon, posting a 2.37 goals-against average and .906 save percentage with six shutouts. The former 12th round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft from Strathmore, Alta. has also appeared in 14 career playoff games.
In a pair of corresponding moves, the Knights released overage goaltender Owen Willmore and blueliner Alec Leonard on Wednesday, bringing them to three OA players in Elliott along with forwards Landon Sim and Jacob Julien.
